Crazy FUN weekend

Woke up and was very sad we haven't done any fun things for Christmas... so you have to give me credit, I shoved it all into one day (Kevin's day off)....

First we got all dressed up in our best Christmas dresses so we would look the part for our activities!

Then we stood in a long line, but it was worth it cuz we got to see Santa and it was great! Dean got his 1st Christmas present from Santa... a little red bell from Santa's sleigh with gold string on it for the tree. The kids could not have been happier!

After a very healthy lunch at the mall (just french fries)

We went to The Princess and the Frog!

It was so good! Even Dean enjoyed the music and sat in his car seat the whole time shaking his feet! For those of you who have not seen it FYI the fireflies are my absolute favorite!

In the lobby they had these big chipmunks to advertise the squeakual! BTW Dean loves the 1st one he sits in his jump-a-roo and fully belly laughs when we watch it..jumping so hard he almost launches himself right out of it.

There was a preview for it and he was laughing in the theater..there was an old couple next to us who just loved watching him watch the preview!

I took lots of pictures but this is my FAV!

After a roast dinner (I thought that was fitting with the days activities) we put together an awesome foam gingerbread house while watching the premier of Santa Baby 2 on the family channel. We have ornaments to make too but we'll save those for another day!

The finished product! Pretty darn cool if you ask me I've got some talented girls!

The biggest problem with shoving it all into one day is the kids did not go to bed til 1030pm and it was hard getting Shea up for school and Ava was a cranky pants all day...but I still think it was worth it.

Hope you all have tons of fun this Christmas season too!

At least someones enjoying it!

It is currently 6 degrees outside (2pm in the afternoon) on Sunday we got 9 inches of snow, they are predicting another 4 inches tonight. Last night the temp outside (while feeding the dogs) was 1 degree yes that reads right 1 degree!
However, no matter how cold it is I have 2 little girls that are willing to load themselves into snow pants, boots, coats, gloves, and hats to go roll around in it for an HOUR now! (and still out there with no sign of coming in)

the girls wanted to pose with the snowman next door since the snow isn't wet enough to make their own
"SNOW POWDER FIGHT!"

SNOW ANGELS, a must

Did I mention it's 6 degrees!

The first picture is of our new house...and I guess for Colorado it's beginning to look alot like Christmas. I'm very proud of myself cuz I'm the one who climbed on the roof and hung lights (picture to come) this year.

Hope your season is looking alot like Christmas for you and yours (even if it's palm trees with lit up trunks)

Christma-fied

Love when I have everything up...new this year my village....

My mom has as long as I can remember these beautiful villages up during Christmas time. When I was little I loved the Mexican missions, and told her if she ever was tired of them I want them...this year she gifted them to me! I still need to get some trees and maybe add a hill but I'm so excited to have these in my home

Fireplace shmire-place

Love our tree and the mish-mash of ornaments and the lower 4 ft of witch fully decorated by 2 SUPER Christmas spirits

Scary Cute

Halloween was fun this year as almost every year we try to do a theme... this year Rock n' Roll
The girls both wanted to be Hannah Montana...

Our very handsome "young Elvis" with his blue eyes signature hair curl, guitar on his shirt and a jean jacket, collar flipped up for course...don't do steppin' on my blue swede shoes!

Kevin was busy working this year so I had to complete the group with their Guitar!

After all the fun trick or treating and parties Kevin and I got a night out with our friends!
WE HAD so much fun as the Vampire Slayer and the Vampire!

Don't worry I'm about ready to Stake Him, he just doesn't know it yet.....

Happy Halloween!

SNOW DAY!

That's right.... I got the call at 630am this morning telling me no school due to snowy weather! Shea came in at 845 and said "Mom, I think I'm late for school". I loved that... "no, babe there's no school today because there's so much snow".... "ok, mommy? can I go back to bed?"

Guess everyone needed the snow day we all stayed in bed til 10am!

"Triangle The Other White Meat"

Last night we had friends over and played BEST BOARD GAME EVER!
Let me introduce you to the fabulous world of QUELF.....Starting with the crazy characters that you get to pick and really behave like for the game play... just call me Super Ninja Monkey and don't trust the Biscuit farmer, he's shady with his hoe. Then, follow the Roolz or pay the penalty....... You know you've found a gem of a game when grown men are yelling "Serves You Right Captain Poopy Pants" or 7 Adults trying to be the 1st to say "All Hail the Chinese Cheese Biscuit".......... Seriously we had so much fun at the end my sides and cheeks hurt so bad from laughing harder than I have in years.

Kevin had to touch his tongue to his nose to get to move ahead and Austin had to fashion a snorkel out of house hold items and wear it the whole game or move back 3 spaces. This is just a few of the fun things Quelf has to offer. (sorry all we had was camera phones)

Thank you Wiggity Bang Games your invention ROCKED this house!

Plagued with Sickness

We have been fighting off one thing or another for almost 3 weeks now. It all started with Shea coming home from school and coughing til she puked. Alternating Ibuprofen and Tylenol to get her fever down and letting her sleep plus she missed a whole week of school. Then I got it, feeling awful.. woke up to Ava crying that her ear hurt.... Off to the doctor.

Shea was just getting over the flu, and Ava had a double ear infection. She was put on Amoxicillan, and we were sent home to rest, until Dean spiked a temp of 103.5 2 days later and started coughing his lungs out. To the Doctor we went again....... Dean and Ava have SWINE FLU!!! What? so on tamiflu they started........
ME...Every hour up with little dude calming him and keeping his temp under control. He had to sleep in our bed cuz I was so worried I couldn't sleep unless I could him breathing...

Then this morning Ava came into me and said "I'm so scratchy MOM!"
"oh my gosh Ava your face is on fire! and your lips and ears are swollen"
Off to the Urgent Care we go!

Ava is allergic to Amoxicillan and is covered in rash....... even between her toes. So now she's on Benadryl and Clariton... time will only tell if we can get her better soon.
I'm AFRAID to wake up tomorrow and see what illness awaits us!!!!!!! BLAH..... wish us luck
